Static Squad has a short but interesting story to tell. It involves nothing more than a bunch of guys with nothing to do. They all set out to destroy whatever music scene their poor little home-city, Savannah, GA has and replace it with ear-bleeding, heart-stopping, head-pounding, hardcore punk rock. The horrible excuse for music was formed in Autumn of 2003 first (appropriately)as "No Talent." We had Noah Static on guitar, Steve Fury from "The Fury" on guitar and also unofficially on vocals (everyone was too scared to pick up the mic), and Ethan on bass. We didn't have a drummer because the only drummer around was Mees (pronounced "Mase") and nobody really liked him that much then, mostly because he just moved to our town and nobody knew him that well. Then the members found out that "No Talent" was already a band name, so they changed their name to "The Solution" with the same line-up as the other band. Then Steve quit to form his own band, The Fury. So Noah Static and Ethan came up with "The Blanks" because they never really liked the name "The Solution," but they couldn't come up with any thing better, so they stuck with it 'til the end. As The Fury was coming together and progressing with their music, and actually got their first gig, The Blanks still had only two members and none wanted to do vocals or drums. So, in an act of desperation, the left-over solution and no talent decided to recruit Mees on drums and Nick for vocals. The band later relized that they really enjoy Mees being in the band, and like his drumming skills. After a while, the band, as well as other friends, started to dislike Nick's vocals after we played for them and even more when we recorded ourselves on a 20-year-old tape recorder and played it back. To put it frankly, they sucked. So The Blanks decided to part ways with Nick. The band then changed the name once more, again because of a copyright infringement or something, to Static Squad. Yes, we do know that the name isn't the best there is, but it works. Currently Noah Static is doing the vocals and guitar until they can find someone better to do vocals, and since Savannah has no scene-it'll probably be a while. We'll keep this up-to-date as we progress and after we gain some notariety.
